2026 Photo Competition Winners
The Camino de Santiago is one of the most iconic pilgrimage routes in the western world. In 2024 nearly 500 000 pilgrims received their Compostelas from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. (The Compostela is a religious document issued to those pilgrims who have met certain requirements on their pilgrimage.) This number does not include those not receiving the Compostela and those walking or cycling only part of the way. The numbers in 2025 are set to overtake this figure. Amongst these numbers are a small percentage of South Africans who number over 1500 in both the past 2 years.
Our calendar competition ended on the 30th September and we are delighted to announce the following winners. Thank you to all who entered and to Ina du Plessis for organising and selecting the photos as well as organising the calendar for 2026. It is much appreciated.
